Elizabeth (Liz) is currently obtaining her Master’s degree in Marriage Family Therapy at Northwestern University. She also received her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Loyola University Chicago. Liz is a passionate and dedicated Marriage Family Therapist committed to serving individuals, couples, and families from diverse backgrounds. With valuable experience through previous experience at a residential substance abuse facility and working with minority individuals, Liz brings empathy, cultural sensitivity, and a desire to make a positive difference to her clients.

During Liz’s experience at a residential substance abuse facility, she developed a deep understanding of the complexities surrounding addiction and its impact on individuals and their families. Liz provided support and guidance to clients as they navigated the challenges of recovery, fostering an environment of healing and empowerment. In addition to her work in substance abuse treatment, Liz has a keen interest in serving the minority population. Liz recognizes the importance of culturally competent care and strives to create a welcoming and inclusive space where all clients feel valued and understood. Through her experiences, she has developed an awareness of the unique social, cultural, and systemic factors that influence the well-being of minority individuals and families.

Liz approaches therapy from a client-centered perspective, tailoring their interventions to meet each individual and family's specific needs and goals. Liz utilizes evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), and Narrative Therapy to help clients build resilience, develop coping skills, and strengthen their relationships. Committed to her professional growth and development, Liz actively seeks opportunities to expand her knowledge and skills in the field of marriage and family therapy. Liz is dedicated to providing compassionate and effective care that promotes healing, growth, and positive change.

As a Marriage and Family Therapist Intern, Liz is honored to accompany clients on their journey toward greater well-being and fulfillment.
