About

Ted Ribbens is currently enrolled in the Master’s degree program at Simmons University School of Social Work. He began his professional life as a teacher and musician, but felt that he could better serve humanity as a social worker and therapist.

Ted is passionate in supporting people as they navigate mental health challenges including but not limited to dating, marriage, substance use disorder, depression, anxiety, workplace-related-stress and anxiety and depression exacerbated by the current pandemic.

The foundation of Ted’s values and technique is based on three foundational elements: increasing self-awareness, increasing self-love and self-appreciation, and creating and maintaining healthy boundaries in all relationships. Additionally, Ted believes that self-love requires nurturing all of the physical aspects of maintaining our minds and bodies which includes taking in the proper food and water, obtaining enough sleep, exercising and working on important human relationships.

Ted is deeply interested in the Brene Brown model of shame and guilt. He believes that it is important to learn to minimize the effects of shame to allow lasting and deep personal healing to take place.
