About
Alex Amidei is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Concordia University. Through his previous experiences providing clinical support to youth with autism and contributing to behavioral health research, Alex has developed an appreciation for the complex factors that influence emotional well-being and behavior. He is passionate about supporting families and adolescents as they navigate life’s challenges and build healthier, more meaningful relationships.
Alex takes a client-centered approach to therapy, believing that every individual possesses unique strengths and the capacity for growth that can flourish within an environment of genuineness and trust. His work often utilizes evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), which he adapts to each client’s individual needs, values, and goals. He strives to create a supportive, collaborative, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel understood and empowered to make meaningful changes.
Alex is interested in helping clients address concerns related to stress, depression, anxiety, loneliness, emotion regulation, and interpersonal relationships. He is committed to helping clients develop practical skills, deepen self-understanding, widen perspectives, and build resilience as they work toward living more fulfilling and authentic lives.
