About

Mikayla is currently obtaining a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Roosevelt University. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Bachelor of Arts in Cognitive Science, with a minor in Early Childhood Studies, from the University of Minnesota-Duluth. Mikayla has several years of experience working in mental health and human service settings with clients across the lifespan. Through her various roles, she developed an interest in trauma-informed care, the mind–body connection, and holistic approaches to healing. Through her academic training and professional experience, she will tailor her approach to meet each client’s individual needs and experiences.

Mikayla will integrate the evidence-based approach of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and incorporate somatic-based practices when appropriate. With ongoing supervision and training in current research, she aims to create a supportive and collaborative space where clients feel safe exploring growth and healing.

Whether you’re new to therapy or returning to the process, she aims to meet you where you are. She is particularly interested in working with individuals who are navigating a wide range of issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, identity development, and relational challenges. Mikayla is passionate about helping clients reconnect with themselves, build resilience, and create meaningful, fulfilling lives.
